S4 Camera Server Failed Error
Problem: CameraServer failed. Restart Camera is what comes up everytime i try to use the front camera . i've removed the battery and reset my phone , i've gone through the application manager and tried everything , ive also factory reset my phone but nothing works . i don't use an sd card .
Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset which didn't resolve the issue this now appears to be a hardware related problem. Is your phone still running on its stock firmware? If you are using a custom ROM on your phone then there's a possibility that this problem will occur especially if the custom ROM you are using has bugs or if it is designed to work for a different phone model.
If your phone is still running on its stock software then the problem could be caused by a defective camera module. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Phone Restarts When Camera Is Used
Problem: I have a samsung galaxy S4 (i9500) smartphone that recently encountered a very rare problem. At the battery level of 60-70% or even higher or lower, If I open the camera to take a picture, the screen freezes and after that the phone restarts and this issue repeats again and again. If at the same time, I connect the phone to the charger, the problem disappear. I changed the phone battery with new one, but the problem still exist. I checked the Internet for any solutions, the none of them solved the problem. Also I reset the phone and even upgraded it to 5.0.1, but the problem still exist. Do you have solution for this?
Solution: Since the problem disappears when you connect the phone to a charger then the issue could be caused by a voltage drop when the camera is activated. Normally, replacing the battery will resolve this issue. Try getting another new battery to eliminate the possibility that the new one you got is also faulty. If the issue still persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. The problem could be caused by a component inside the phone that is failing.
S4 Camera Auto Focus Not Working
Problem: seems the camera auto-focus is no longer functional. Unless you're inches from the subject, the photo will be out of focus. Tried all I could find out there related to settings, but the problem prevails. Also tried rebooting in safe mode, wiping cache, deleting the camera cache — all no joy. Even went so far as to download another camera app and same issue there. I can't find any mechanism for putting the camera into manual focus mode. Was working fine for some time and the only thing I have yet to try is a hard reset back to factory defaults… Any ideas?
Solution: Does your phone have a case installed? If it has then try removing it as this may cause the focusing problem. You should also check the camera lens for any signs of dirt, oil, or smudges. This will interfere with the ability of your phone to focus. If necessary, clean the camera lens with a microfiber cloth. Use this type of cloth to avoid scratching the lens.
If the issue still persists then you should do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before performing this procedure as it will delete all of your phone data.
S4 Camera Failed
Problem: I have samsung galaxy s4 (I9505), when i use camera application. Often it is showing camera fail special when i am using camera from standard mode to selfie mode. It is hanged. Please suggest me solution. Thank
Solution: This issue is usually caused by some form of corrupt data. Try to clear the cache and data of the camera app then check if the problem goes away. If the issue persists then I suggest you start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
Another factor that you should not overlook is the possibility of this issue caused by an app you installed in your phone. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check the camera operation in this mode. If the problem does not occur then an app could be the culprit. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S4 Video Not Playing
Problem: Everything was fine until yesterday when I tried to play a video in gallery and it says cannot play video. If I go to the my video icon I can play it there but not from my gallery as I have previously. Also my pictures are fine in the gallery but if I send them anywhere it turns them sideways. All this started.
Solution: The gallery app may have a problem. Try clearing the cache and data of this app to resolve the issue. Regarding the photos turning sideways the phone camera may not be recording the correct meta data information on photos which is why they appear sideways. Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app to resolve this issue.
If the problem persists then I suggest you start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
