After teasing the few specifications of the Vivo X9 & X9 Plus smartphone, Vivo has officially unveiled both the devices at the launch event held in China. Along with the X9 & X9 Plus, the company also unveiled the rumored flagship XPlay 6 smartphone. All the devices come with an all metal body with curved antenna design and rounded corners. Just below the display, we can find the home button that comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. The devices run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based FunTouch 3.0 OS with highly customized UI. There is no expandable storage option available on any of these devices.
Vivo X9:
The Vivo X9 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 625 MSM 8952 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It is built on 14nm FinFET process and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB & 128 storage options. In the camera department, there is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. For selfies, it comes with 20MP + 8MP dual front cameras but both the sensors have fixed focus. The Hi-Fi audio on this device is taken care by the dedicated AKM4376 Chip. It is backed by a 3,050mAh non-removable battery.
Vivo X9 Plus:
Compared to X9, the X9 Plus comes with a bigger 5.88-inch display with the same Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It is powered by Snapdragon 653 MSM 8976 Pro octa-core processor clocked at 1.95GHz and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. The X9 Plus comes with 6GB RAM while the internal storage remains same at 64GB. The X9 Plus also shares the same camera sensors as on Vivo X9. However, this device comes with ES9018 and ES9603 dual Hi-Fi Chips. The battery capacity is also increased from 3,050mAh to 4,000mAh on the X9 Plus.
Vivo XPlay 6:
Among all the three smartphones, the Vivo Xplay 6 is the most powerful device sporting flagship specifications. This device comes with Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz. We expected the device to feature the upgraded Snapdragon 821 chipset that comes give 10% better performance. On the front is a 5.46-inch dual curved Super AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It packs 6GB of RAM & 128GB of internal storage. Unlike the other two devices, the dual camera setup is placed on the rear of the XPlay 6. It has 12MP and 5MP sensors placed on the rear while the front camera is of 16MP resolution. Vivo might be offering some good audio output with the XPlay 6 as it features one ES9038 and three OPA1622 dedicated Hi-Fi Chips. The 4,080mAh non-removable battery keeps the device powered on
Pricing and Availablity:
The Vivo X9 is priced at 2798 Yuan for 64GB storage variant and 2998 yuan for 128GB storage variant. It will be available from November 24th only in China. The pricing of the Vivo X9 Plus smartphone will be announced on December 26th. Coming to the premium XPlay 6, it costs 4498 Yuan and will be sold online and offline starting from December 12th.
