Meet Galaxy Note 8 - Samsung's first dual camera phone

The AMOLED edge-to-edge curved display on Samsung's new Galaxy S8 has been widely praised as one of the phone's crowning features - but unfortunately, it seems some models may not be living up to expectations. As we know, they have redesigned a lot on these two devices.

Meanwhile, other owners of the early editions of the Galaxy S8 noticed that the company has blocked the remapping ability of the dedicated Bixby button, the only button dedicated to turning on Samsung's exclusive digital assistant.

The South Korean tech giant showcased the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus last month, with official sales of the device kicking off in South Korea and the United States on Friday.

The 3:59 gives you bite-size news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by the CNET News team in NY and producer Bryan VanGelder. But we can assume the price will be around 50K INR considering the price of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7+.

If you buy phones and you're in it for the long haul, like 2-3 years, then things like how easy is the phone to fix is an important question.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8 inch QHD display; while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2 inch QHD display. Despite having a lovely looking display, some global users are complaining about the freakish 18:5:9 aspect ratio. Samsung also upped the security feature with an iris scanner, face recognition and fingerprint scanner - moved to the back of the device - to unlock the device.

Both smartphones feature 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera with F1.7 lens and are powered by the industry first 10nm processor.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a dual-camera set-up, so the leaked design of the Galaxy S8 pretty much spells what the phablet is going to look like. And yes, don't forget about the new Bixby assistant. Both devices are also water and dust (IP68)-resistant. 'Can't say it will never happen, but we won't officially support, ' Samsung representative Philip Berne stated in a tweet. Would you be interested in buying either them for this price?
