Huawei gathered limelight for its recently launched P9 smartphone that brings a set of impressive specifications, clubbed with beautiful chassis. The USP of the phone is its dual-camera set up powered by Leica, which is well known for its cameras and peripherals. In fact, Huawei's collaboration with Leica has set new standards for smartphone makers.
Huawei P9 has been launched for Rs 39,999 in India. For this price, the phone is loaded with specifications and features that are seen on flagship phones of tier 1 brands such as Samsung and Sony. At the same time, the P9 becomes a threat to smartphones like OnePlus 3.

Design:
Huawei P9 dons aluminium metal body design that has been carved to perfection to look as well as feel premium. It flaunts a beautifully designed chassis, and seems appealing. The phone sits comfortably on hand, and is easy to operate. Oneplus 3 also, flaunts a metal body design with non-removable back panel.
Display:
Speaking of the display, Huawei P9 smartphone features a 5.2-inch FHD display with a 1920×1080pixel resolution, making way to a pixel density of 423PPI. The P9 is powered by Huawei's in house Kirin 955 SoC with octa-core clocked at 2.5GHz with 64-bit ARM-based processor, which ensures feature smooth performance, even while multitasking, and is more battery efficient. The Oneplus 3, in comparison, runs the Snapdragon 820 chipset with quad-core.
Storage space:
Smartphones are our storage hub, keeping all important data and memories in the form of photos and videos. The Huawei P9 (in India) has 3GB of RAM with 32GB of in-built storage, expandable using microSD card. On top of it, the company says that its chipset works wonders with 3GB of RAM, and the device use less storage space for native apps and features. Oneplus has 64GB of internal storage, but it does not support microSD card.
Camera:
Huawei P9 swears by its camera, and there is no doubt about it that it is the best camera phone from Huawei till date. The phone has dual-camera set up with 12MP Leica lens, which employs Leica SUMMARIT H 1:2.2/27 aspherical lens and 1.25-micron pixels. It is exceptionally good for clicking black and white shots even in low lighting conditions.

Moreover, the phone lets users change the focus point in an image, using the selective focus feature. The camera set up promises pictures that offer DSLR quality. In comparison, the Oneplus 3 features a 16MP camera, but it is a single lens camera, and does not have P9 like features and capabilities. Also, both phones feature 8MP front facing snapper.

Both smartphones are powered by non-removable 3000mAh battery. Huawei touts that the Kirin 955 chipset is more battery efficient, resulting in longer power back up. Moreover, the phone features battery saving mode and quick charge technology, which enhances the user experience.
Software:
The Huawei P9 smartphone runs Android Marshmallow out of the box. It is topped with company's native UI that brings extra features and customisation for better user-experience. The Oneplus 3 also ships with Android Marshmallow on board.
Verdict:
Huawei P9 is a beast in terms of its specifications and features, as well as looks. The phone combines best in class aluminum metal body design with top of the line specifications including a brilliant camera, powered by Leica. Oneplus 3 also dons a metal body design but its camera lacks the feature and efficiency that Huawei P9 promises.
With Leica sensor on Huawei P9, its dual camera set up offers DSLR like photos quality, whereas camera is one department where Oneplus' smartphone have performed average.
