Prison officials at a Goulburn prison have stopped 16 cellphones from reaching inmates

The phones were thrown over a outer perimeter wire fence inside four parcels

'Our officers conduct regular checks of all areas in and around the prison. I praise the staff member who located these items.'

Following a successful trial at Lithgow Correctio nal Centre a phone jamming trial has been set for the Goulburn prison after approval from the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Goulburn was selected next for the trial because, unlike the Lithgow grounds, it is nearby to residential homes and businesses.

The Goulburn proposal is still out for tender.

CCTV footage captured footage of a person throwing the packages over the fence

As well as 16 mobiles, there was also eight SIM cards and 15 phone chargers

Commissioner Severin says this proves the importance of phone jamming to prevent the use of cellphones inside prison walls

'This attempt to introduce such a large number of phones reinforces the importance of phone jamming,' said Commissioner Severin.

Minister for Corrections David Elliot praised the staff member who found the phones and said the fight against contraband is a constant battle for CSNSW.

'The NSW Government is investing in upgrading security and infrastructure right across the prison system,' said Mr Elliott.

'This discovery shows how vigilant prison officers are in their patrols.'

Corrective Service NSW and police officials are looking into the incident.

Why would you buy an endoscopic camera for your phone?

Well, this is a new one.

A company called Neva Tech has produced an endoscopic camera that attaches to your Android device.

Most people are familiar with endoscopic cameras as those devices that doctors use to look… inside people.

We're hoping that no doctors are using their smartphones to do this, but there are a surprising number of other uses that this little gizmo could have around the home.

Neva Tech's original asking price for the Endoscopic Android Camera was $139.99.

It's waterproof and flexible, meaning you can you can use it to do things like look inside your sink drain for a clog. If you're working on your vehicle, you can use the tiny little camera to get a better look inside tight spaces.

Or if you're in the international espionage business, you can use it to look around corners and under doors for potential enemies, I guess.

Neva Tech's original asking price for the Endoscopic Android Camera was $139.99. We're guessing they weren't able to move many of these at that price.

The price has been dropped to $17.50, which makes us suspect they're trying to unload a surplus of product.

At $139.99, it would be pretty hard to justify buying this. But at $17.50, it would make a great tool or novelty purchase.

If you're intrigued, you might want to grab one before they're gone. Click the button below to see the full specs.

Galaxy Note 8 To Be Overshadowed By Samsung’s Galaxy X Foldable Phone?

The Galaxy Note 8 phablet will likely be overshadowed by Samsung's Galaxy X foldable phone this year. For one thing, the Galaxy Note 7 successor will not be the first ever Samsung handset to feature a dual-camera module on the back. Instead, this distinction is being linked to the rumored Galaxy X.

SamMobile heard through a reliable tipster Tuesday that Samsung is not positioning the Galaxy Note 8 as its first smartphone to sport the dual-camera configuration. This setup is said to be debuting with the Galaxy X, which is internally known as Project Valley. The device, of course, has previously made headlines for being the flagship of a new series of phones with a foldable display. Though little is known about this handset, there is word it could come with a 5-inch display that can fold out and transform into a 7-inch screen. Such transformation would make it a 2-in-1 phone/tablet device.

A Twitter leaker from China is also saying the same thing about the Galaxy Note 8 not turning out to be the first Samsung phone with a dual-camera setup. The leaker said the first Galaxy handset debuting with a dual-camera module is one of the next-generation Galaxy C phones. The leaker even provided an illustration showing what appears to be vertically aligned lenses and flash on the back of the new device.

The Chinese leaker said it is also very unlikely Samsung will add dual cameras to the Galaxy Note 8. In a response to one follower's comment about the Note 8 debuting with two rear lenses, the leaker said the phablet could come with a single-lens back camera. The leaker then claimed Samsung is not sure if its dual-camera technology would be good enough for the Note series or even for the Galaxy S series. Should this be the case, the Galaxy Note 8 will be overshadowed by either the Galaxy X or the Galaxy C in terms of camera technology.

READ: 5 phones expected to come with dual cameras this year

While there is no evidence to prove Samsung is indeed reluctant to bring its dual-camera technology to its established flagship phones, it is understandable why the company is seriously contemplating what to include and not include on its Galaxy Note 8 phablet. After all, last year's Galaxy Note 7 turned out to be a disappointment despite the advanced technologies in the device. The tech giant could simply be ensuring the quality of its next-generation phones to avoid another fiasco.

Meanwhile, news about the Galaxy X foldable phone already started emerging early this year. In mid-March, there was a report claiming Apple's biggest rival could unveil the prototype during the IFA conference in September. Then, sources from South Korea fueled the hype over the phone, saying production of the prototype will commence during the third quarter of this year.

Contrary to what current reports are saying, previously leaked information from a Samsung Display engineer point to a 2019 release for the Galaxy X flagship phone. If true, then it's possible that the Galaxy X won't be the first Samsung device to debut with a dual-camera setup either. It's possible a new Galaxy C model could have this distinction. Moreover, it's also possible the Galaxy Note 8, which Samsung is planning to launch in late 2017, could have this if the company successfully implements the feature on the upcoming phablet and if the plan for a Galaxy C with dual cameras falls through.

The Front Camera is Becoming the Main Camera on Your Phone

You will remember years back when people took selfies using their back cameras. Like this:

Selfies in the pastSelfies in the past

That was back then when most devices lacked front cameras. Or when front cameras were so bad that people had no option.

But front cameras have grown. They are now much better. There are even Vloggers who rely on their smartphone cameras for good quality videos.

    Selfie Stick VloggerSelfie-sticks craze

This year when Samsung announced their latest flagship, the Galaxy S8, they made no mention of any update to the back camera. Nothing. Meaning the Galaxy S7 back camera is the same as the Galaxy S8 back camera. But they completely revamped the Front Camera. Even adding autofocus.

It is 2017, and people are taking even more selfies than before. And the demand for superior front cameras is on the rise. And that's why this year we've seen in Kenya the launch of selfie-focused smartphones like:

These phones are aimed at selfieholics. With Snapchat and Instagram, more and more people are obsessed with snapping good photos of themselves doing whatever crazy things. And with that there's the demand for better front cameras.

    Infinix S2 PROInfinix S2 PRO

Companies are answering this call by launching crazy spec'd front cameras.

  • The Camon CX features a 16MP front camera with Dual LED Flash for brighter selfies even at night.
  • The Infinix S2 PRO comes with dual front cameras. Where one camera is an 8MP wide angle shooter and the other one is a 13MP normal shooter.
  • The OPPO A57 has a 16MP front camera (with a 13MP back camera) marketed as the ultimate selfie phone. It includes hand gestures and Bokeh effect to blur the background creating nice potraits.
  • OPPO A57 KenyaOPPO A57

Which camera do you use most? And why? Would you buy a phone with a better front camera than back camera?

    I t is a mad world.
