New HTC 10 phone focuses on camera quality

HTC is also expected to launch a trimmed down version of HTC 10, named HTC 10 Lifestyle, which will likely be equipped with a Snapdragon 652 processor instead of more powerful Snapdragon 820. The HTC 10 is also incorporated with a fingerprint sensor which also unlocks the phone within just 0.2 seconds. It sports a 5.2-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super LCD 5 display, but it would have been better if there is a Super AMOLED display.

The 10's front camera has also been upgraded to a 5-megapixel sensor with optically stabilized, f/1.8 wideangle lens (a first for front-facing cameras, according to HTC), that should make for better selfies in low light. While it hasn't yet said when it will reach Indian shores, the HTC India website lists the HTC 10 Lifestyle as of now. In terms of camera specifications, the smartphone features a 12MP "UltraPixel" primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser auto focus, OIS, and dual-LED flash.

Adding to this HTC 10 also has an internal storage capacity of 32 GB in addition to the 2 TB expandable storage that HTC boast its external micro-SD slot can support.

The leaked video shows the phone in three colors - gold, silver, and dark gray - with chamfered edges and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. Many saw this as a sign that the HTC 10 will not be launched in the country.

The HTC 10 will be made available across a variety of carriers in the USA with pre-orders kicking off today and shipments will start going out in early May.

HTC's BoomSound audio tech is still present and delivers Hi-Fi sound along with Dolby Audio support.

Another key difference is that the HTC 10 Lifestyle only includes 3GB of RAM, 1GB less than the regular variant.

All in all, the HTC 10 is shaping up to be a real contender in 2016.
