Police are searching for an 'upskirter' who filmed an unsuspecting woman getting undressed in a sports store changing room.

The woman, 32, was trying on clothes in the Bourke Street store in Melbourne on February 12 when she noticed someone holding a phone underneath the adjoining wall, filming into her cubicle.

After the woman screamed the man who was allegedly filming her fled the store, when he was captured on CCTV footage.

Police have now released images and CCTV footage of the alleged offender in the hopes someone may recognise him.

Anyone who may recognise the man or who may have any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In January, an American man was charged with secretly videotaping over 20 women who were getting undressed in mall changing rooms.

Bryan Roberts, 47, from Missouri, allegedly cut a hole into a garment bag so he could put a cell phone camera in it, and then slipped the bag under the fitting rooms of stores in a mall.

Anyone who may recognise the man or who may have any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers
