Samsung and Sony are two established names in the IT world. The contenders never cease to surprise fans with a host of electronic products like mobile phones, TVs, cameras, etc. Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy S6 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Comparing the S6 model with Sony's Xperia Z5 will give a fair hint about how the brands perform against each other in the smartphone business.
Design and displayAndroid Central notes that the S6 has a 5.1-inch screen with QHD 2560 x 1440 display resolution. Its metal framework sets it apart from the Galaxy S5 model, which was built out of plastic. Protected by Gorilla Glass 4, the screen stays safe from scratches and fingerprints.
If you hold the Xperia Z5, it feels heavier and thicker than the Galaxy S6, observes Neurogadget. While the Xperia Z5 weighs 154 grams, the Galaxy S6 weighs only 138 grams. The screen size in Z5 is 5.2 inches, with IPS LCD display and full HD resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
PerformanceEquipped with an Exynos 7420 chipset and powered by a quad-core Cortex A53 processor set at 1.5GHz, the Galaxy S6 claims the better performance. It has 3GB of RAM and Mali-T760MP8 graphics card n it.
Equally competitive, the Xperia Z5 is powered by Qualcomm's MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A57 processor set at 2GHz and quad-core Cortex A53 processor, 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 420 graphics card.
CameraThe Xperia Z5 edges past the Galaxy S6 in terms of camera. A 23MP rear camera in the Xperia Z5 makes it more powerful than the Galaxy S6's 16MP rear camera. The front camera is 5MP in the Galaxy S6 and 5.1MP in the Xperia Z5.
Battery capacityThe Galaxy S6 battery capacity is 2,550mAH, and the Xperia Z5 battery capacity is 2,900mAH.
Hence, it can be said that the Xperia Z5 is a better bet than the Galaxy S6 in terms of camera and battery, although the other features in the S6 are highly impressive.
